Guest Speaker: Padma Chukka, Senior Manager at IBM
Padma is the IBM Senior Manager leading a team of consultants to deliver major business transformations which enable IBM to be successful in the marketplace. Ms. Chukka has enjoyed exposure to diverse areas of IBM organizations including Semiconductor business, Software development, CIO transformation programs and client facing. Ms. Chukka received Project Management Excellence Award in 2008 for her contributions to IBM Software Group. She has been designated as a NextGen employee-extremely competitive program in IBM, which highlights her leadership qualities and future potential. In 2010 she was nominated by IBM and won “All Stars Award in Technology” from Women of Color magazine. She has received several enterprise recognition awards and filed patents.
Ms. Chukka has developed a case study on “IBM Smarter Planet” in conjunction with NYU Stern which was part of EMBA curriculum. She was the semifinalist in NYU Stern Social Venture Competition. Her idea of “Invisible Glue – Letter to your younger self” became a theme for the 2010 International Women’s day in IBM and Underthemicroscope.com. She is an active contributor to the community and was instrumental in creating the one of a kind Teacher Institute by working with IBM and Dutchess Community Chamber of Commerce to teach the teachers about how to steer students’ interests towards STEM careers. She published articles in underthemicroscope.com and spoken in various events at major universities for Society of Women Engineers, Women in Technology conferences. Ms. Chukka is a member of many professional and IBM. She is the University Ambassador for NYU Stern and George Washington University.
Ms. Chukka earned her Master’s degree in Software Design and Development from Marist College at Poughkeepsie and later earned her MBA from NYU Stern. She is married with two daughters.
